Background
Our team at Carbon Robotics was invited to enter KATIA (Kick Ass Trainable Intelligent Arm) into the TechCrunch Hardware Battlefield Competition at CES 2016.
Goals and Objectives
Win or lose, we wanted to get more exposure to developers who would be interested in bringing their ideas to life with KATIA. But we definitely got into it to win!
Details
TechCrunch, as a reputable source for tech and startup information, hosted their Hardware Battlefield competition at CES where we also exhibited in their village and spent much of our time making connections and meeting other companies. We were asked to provide a video for entry into the competition and we chose to showcase some of the strongest use cases for KATIA. Between some video that we already had, some new B-roll, and a few newer shots of KATIA we had been working on, I was able to weave together a suitable video to showcase KATIA and support our presentation in front of a live audience.
Results
Carbon finished as a finalist, but we did not win the competition. This did help us become a finalist in Engadget’s Best of CES 2016 competition, where we also did not win – but we were proud to be featured as finalists.
